Recycling is hard to put into perspective.<\/p>\n

The United States produces, on average, 11 million tons of shingle waste (annually)<\/a> just from roof tear-offs. Asphalt shingles, in particular, make up 80% of the total waste that comes from the roofing industry.<\/p>\n

So let\u2019s say your roof has reached the end of it\u2019s lifespan and you get your roof repaired or replaced – the old shingles that are torn off during construction eventually go to a landfill where they will take about three hundred years to decompose.
