Roofing Season: When Does It Start and End?

Contents

Roofing projects, whether they involve repair or replacement, are usually a big deal. You’ll want them to go on smoothly, so it’s important that you cover all of their bases. Take timing, for example. To ensure your roofing project is completed in short order, it pays to schedule the job during the ‘roofing season’. Bone Dry Roofing, one of the premier residential roofing contractors in the area, explains more about it here.

When Does Roofing Season Start?

Basically, roofing season refers to a ‘golden’ period where the weather is extremely ideal for a roofing project. But the start of this season varies for every region. For instance, roofing season generally starts in spring for those who live in northern parts of the country. That’s because the weather is warm and pleasant enough that roofers can complete their projects in a timely manner. Homeowners in hot and humid regions may schedule their projects around fall and spring– or sometimes just the fall since it will be cooler out.

When Does Roofing Season End?

It comes to a close when changes in weather and temperature have become too extreme that the project will not only experience delays, but is incredibly risky to actually do. This isn’t limited to roofing work, but other exterior renovation projects, as well, including roof repair. In colder regions, winter is obviously the end of the roofing season–in warmer areas, that will be the peak of summer.

Most roofing companies will refuse to start any extensive jobs at the end of a roofing season (unless it’s emergency repairs). Some may still take on projects, but you’ll have to expect a higher price since they’ll be working under stressful and uncomfortable conditions, plus they’ll require additional safety measures. If you’re planning a replacement out of roofing season, how your new shingles are stored and installed will also be affected.

Given how spring is typically roofing season in Tennessee , now is the best time to have a new roof installed. Bone Dry Roofing can help you with this. We’re not just your go-to company for gutter replacement–we can also work on your spring roof replacement. Expect only a smooth and worry-free experience when you work with us.
